Caban Cadno

Caban Cadno is perfectly designed for the mud-seekers, the adventurers and the off-roaders. Return from trails right to the door, where you can ditch the gear under the awning or the deck, stick the kettle on and slump onto the wide sofa to take in the wild view through the sliding doors.

There’s no worry if the weather’s turned either, because the shower and flushing loo are built into a separate room next to the kitchen area, so you don’t need to go back out if you’re done with the wilderness for the day. When all the exploring starts to catch up with you, bed is just a short climb away up a ladder to the attic bedroom. You’ll wake again to enjoy views of the valley tucked up under the duvet.

Bike trails and hiking routes cover the farm, the Dyfi Forest and most of the surrounding area, making it one of the best in the UK for mountain biking. You can take on the Dyfi Enduro Route and there’s also a wealth of watersports to be tackled in the form of kayaking, windsurfing and kite-surfing on the nearby coast. If you’re after a more relaxed day out, you can head 5 miles to the pubs, cafes and restaurants of Machynlleth, which has a lively social scene and is home to MOMA Machynlleth art gallery as well as numerous craft shops and galleries.

Cabin Cadno was everything we wanted out of our trip and more! The setting is beautiful with amazing views and you could easily spend all day on the deck mesmerised by it! The cabin is cosy and our family 2 adults, 1 teenager, 1 tween, managed fine with the space we had. I took the required bedding for the sofa bed as stated by the owners. Worried that it would be very cold of a night, it included sleeping bags, duvets and a blanket but I needn’t have worried. When the log burner is on its hotter than the sun in the cabin! Most of the bedding came back unused! I saw more stars in one night than I had in my whole life up to this point and I’ll dream of evenings sat by the campfire listening to owls.

Wonderful Caban, amazing views, super cosy.

The cabin was a good mix of back to basics with the essentials. Very warm and cosy when the log burner is going with tremendous far reaching views even in poor weather. The cabin can only be described as quirky in the best possible way.
